Seeking Reconciliation and Practicing Forgiveness

Family relationships can be some of the most meaningful—and the most challenging. In this episode of Carpool Conversations, Sara and Marissa sit down with Dr. Rob and Amy Reinow from Visionary Family Ministries to talk about what reconciliation really means, why forgiveness is a heart-level issue, and how parents can cultivate a culture of healing and forgiveness in their homes.

Whether you’re navigating daily conflicts or deep family hurts, this conversation offers biblical wisdom and practical steps for restoring what’s broken in your family or any relationship.

About Dr. Rob and Amy Reinow

Rob and Amy Rienow have been married since 1994 and have been blessed with seven children and three grandchildren. Their first and most important ministry is loving one another and nurturing faith in the generations of their family. Together, they founded and lead Visionary Family Ministries, created to equip parents, encourage couples, and help families live for Christ.

Rob was introduced to Jesus at an early age after his mom came to faith shortly after he was born. When his parents divorced during his high school years, God used that painful season to shape his heart for young people and families walking through dark times. He earned his BA from Wheaton College, an MA in Theology from Wheaton College Graduate School, an MDiv from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and a Doctor of Ministry in Christian Leadership from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. For more than 30 years—serving in ministry—Rob has sought to bring hope and help to families by sharing the Gospel and God’s design for the home. Rob is the author of Healing Family Relationships and Visionary Church, and he and Amy co-wrote Visionary Parenting and Visionary Marriage. When he's not “fishing for men,” he enjoys fishing for actual fish.

Amy holds a BA from the University of Illinois and an MA in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College Graduate School. She is a licensed clinical professional counselor and serves in women’s and worship ministries at their church. Her passion is encouraging parents and strengthening families through her counseling background, ministry work, and daily life as a mom.

Rob and Amy live with their family in West Chicago, IL.
