Something Bigger Than Yourself
During a summer at WinShape Camps for Girls at Mount Berry, you become one of your Village. Divided up by completed grades, each Village has its own unique identity and forges its own trail with a new group of campers each summer. Out of this Village will come friendships, memories, and lifelong lessons built through the bonds of sisterhood. Each Village has its own colors, signs, and chants that your camper will know like the back of their hand by the end of camp.
Canyon Village
Completed 1st-3rd Grade Campers
Vast. Enormous. Majestic. These are the words used to describe Canyons. Formed by the smallest acts of strength, each canyon shows that great might can come from any size, if pursued through determination and perseverance.
Woodland Village
Completed 4th-5th Grade Campers
Teeming with endless species of wildlife, all who seek to encounter and explore will find home amidst the trees.
Breathing life from every canopied corner, Woodland always
welcomes those whose curiosity beckons them deeper and deeper into the lush forest.
Cascade Village
Completed 6th-7th Grade Campers
Listen for the thunderous roar and feel the mist of cascading water rushing in. It brings energy, strength, and consistency. The Cascade doesn’t stop. A constant surge in the
midst of a changing environment around it. Individual falls that come together to form a force so powerful, you can hear it before
you see it.
Sierra Village
Completed 8th-9th Grade Campers
You look up and you’re surrounded by the most
unique and beautiful sight. Your breath is taken away. The Sierra
Village consists of a range of mountains especially with serrated
or irregular outlines. The distinguishing characteristics of each
mountain create character and depth for the whole range.
Oasis Village
Completed 10th-11th Grade Campers
As the only fertile area in the midst of a vast desert, the Oasis is the place to sink deep into the cool waters and find peace and shelter amidst the sweltering heat. It’s a place of refreshment, a place to rest and belong. You’ll find nourishment
for your body and refreshment for your soul.
Taiga Village
Completed 11th Grade Campers Adventure Program
The Adventure Program (Taiga Village) is offered at our Mount Berry campus to campers who have completed 11th grade. This Village takes trips with staff who are trained in whitewater rafting, rock climbing, caving, and camping. These campers spend their first week of the Session backpacking offsite and return to Mount Berry for the remainder of the Session. The Taiga Adventure Program is offered all four Sessions as a one-time experience. Campers will sleep in tents, cook over a campfire, filter their own water, and will not have access to restrooms/showers while on the trails. Campers should be in good health and have the ability to participate in physically rigorous outdoor activities. While offsite, campers will carry a backpack between 30 to 50 pounds while hiking 2 to 3 miles daily. The weight range of the backpack will depend on what each camper packs and a portion of group supplies that each camper will help carry such as food and general camping supplies. If a camper is unable to meet the physical requirements associated with this program, WinShape Camps has the right to decline the registration of that camper for the Adventure Program. However, campers of this age group could register for alternatives such as the Oasis Village at Mount Berry and Cohutta Springs.
