Graduating from Camp at Young Harris? What’s next?

Your WinShape Camps Legacy

So, you’ve completed your final year as a camper at WinShape Camps for Girls at Young Harris and don’t want your WinShape journey to end just quite yet. Or you may be a parent to a high school girl that has never attended WinShape Camps. Then boy, do we have a camp experience for you.

Over 6 years ago, we decided to take on a new adventure by launching our first-ever overnight camp designed specifically for high school girls. Today, thousands of high school girls have encountered Jesus at this beautiful peninsula of the Cohutta Springs Conference Center in the North Georgia mountains.

This summer we got to meet with two campers, Molly and Gabby, whose WinShape journeys began at WinShape Camps for Girls at Young Harris. They shared about their transition to WinShape Camps for Girls at Cohutta Springs – and why other high school girls should too. Watch their story below!

If this is your first introduction to WinShape Camps, then you should know that we are always innovating to find new fun ways to make camp intentional with EVERY camper in mind! When the idea for Cohutta Springs was introduced, we knew that high school girls wanted more: more spiritual development, more freedom, and more out-of-this-world FUN! We also knew that our Young Harris girls needed more camp!

Molly and Gabby both started their journey at WinShape Camps for Girls at Young Harris — a one-week camp experience for girls that have completed 1st-8th grade.

Gabby mentioned that after finishing her last year at Young Harris, “They showed us a video of Cohutta Springs when our parents came to pick us up. We all said ‘we HAVE to go!’”

This Could Be the Start of Something New

After being asked what it was like walking onto Cohutta Springs’ campus for the first time, Molly shared, “It was kind of unreal. You wake up every morning and get to see [the lake.] It’s gorgeous.”

Change and new experiences can be scary, but Gabby said that it was comforting to know that “everyone I was with, everyone in my nest, we were all new. It was exciting because… we were all walking through something new together.”

A Lasting Legacy

Cohutta Springs campers are divided by their graduating class into legacies: Aspen, Spruce, Maple, Oak, and Willow. Campers are lifelong members of their legacy. We hope that this encourages girls to grow deep roots in their community and to begin building their lifelong legacy!

We encourage girls to leave a legacy that will last beyond the Summer of a Lifetime. We place an emphasis on leadership and spiritual development, and deep community. We want campers to experience Jesus while having the time of their lives!!
