March Madness Munchies

March Madness is FINALLY HERE!

For anyone who loves basketball, this is arguably the most exciting month on the entire calendar. Lots of games to watch means lots of snacks to eat! Chips, dips, and other fun treats are always a MUST! However, it’s always good to include a few lighter options to fill out the table. Here are two quick and easy basketball-themed March Madness snacks!

Basketball Oranges:

What you’ll need:

  • Sharpie
  • Oranges of any size (we used Halos)

What you’ll do:

  • Draw thin curved lines along the surface of the orange to give a basketball-like appearance
  • Serve in a bowl or a “basket”, if you’re feeling even more invested in the theme
  • Get creative and try sketching your team’s logo on the basketballs as well!

Basketball Dip:

What you’ll need:

  • Your favorite dip (we used black bean hummus — YUM!)
  • Baby Carrots
  • Cucumber

What you’ll do:

  • Begin by scooping about half of the dip from a prepackaged container. If you are using a homemade dip, begin by placing a thin layer at the bottom of a medium sized bowl with a flat bottom
  • Cut cucumber into long thin strips. These will be used to create the lines on the basketball and separate the different sections of the baby carrots
  • Once you have cut your cucumber, arrange strips in the bowl, using the dip to hold each strip into place
  • Place baby carrots in the sections between your cucumber strips
  • NOTE: To create a more uniform look, cut the top edges off of the baby carrots
  • Serve alongside other delicious veggies and enjoy!
