Man Land: Entering the Man Cave

Growing up, whenever I had my friends over at my house or I was at their houses, we always would go to the same room every time to play video games, hang out, or even have great conversations. Whether this room was called the Game Room, or someone’s bedroom, we knew once we stepped into this room that it was going to be a night full of fun. In that same way, my favorite part about Man Land is when the men are in the Man Cave.

Seeing all kinds of manly tools, hearing each man say, “What kind of men are we?,” [GENTLEMEN] or the feeling of shaking another man’s hand, the man cave is a place of excitement and great conversations.

Jesus would also go to a place where he would talk to God. In Mark 1:35 it says, “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”

Now I know, the men in Man Land don’t get up early in the morning to come to Man Land over the summer, but Jesus did this because he wanted to get away from all distractions and go to a place where he could have a great conversation with God.

Sometimes we can get distracted, forget, or may not know the right times to pray to God. How cool would it be to know a place you could always go to pray to God? Well, it is possible!

Just like the Game Room or even your own bedroom is a place of great conversations with friends, it can be the same place to have a great conversation with God. Remember God loves hearing from us even if it’s just for a little bit!

Having great conversations with our friends while they are hanging out in the Game Room or your bedroom is exciting, but we all know they are there to also have some FUN!

In Proverbs 15:13 it says, “A happy heart makes the face cheerful.” If our hearts are happy, one reason for that is that we are probably having some fun! Having fun is something God wants us to do because He loves seeing our faces cheerful.

But, men, as you are having fun, always remember the Man Land Code and Pledge, which is something we always recite in the Man Cave.

Men? – [YES SIR]

Are we men today? – [I AM A MAN]

What makes you a man? – [GOD MADE ME ONE]

What do men do? – [LOVE, SERVE, PROTECT]

What kind of men are we? – [GENTLEMEN]

Make the time at home in your Man Cave a special time to not only love on your friends and family, but also God! My hope and prayer is that you remember God loves hearing from you and seeing your face cheerful.

What kind of men are we? [GENTLEMEN]
