One of my favorite days of the year is that first real fall day. If you live in the South, you know the day that I am talking about. It is the first day when you believe that there is hope and that the summer heat will not last forever. It is the first time you even consider thinking about those cute fall clothes that have been stashed in the attic. It is the day you head to Starbucks and order the first PSL [Pumpkin Spice Latte] of the season. Needless to say, I love this day. I have almost created a little tradition for myself on this day. It is simple- but it really kicks off the autumn season in my mind. Step #1: light my LEAVES by White Barn candle. I know what you are thinking, “How on earth can burning leaves smell remotely good?” Just trust me on this one and try it for yourself. http://www.bathandbodyworks.com/product/index.jsp?productId=43995466 Step #2: bake Pumpkin Chocolate Chips Muffins, also known as Pumpkin Muffies. These are a fall staple in my house- and they are super easy and fun to make. I use this recipe, but I add chocolate chips to the tops of mine for some added décor and taste.
