DIY Olympic Gold Medals

The 2018 Winter Olympics are coming to a close. It is always inspiring to see some of the greatest athletes in the world earn the gold for sports they have been training for their entire lives. Watching these athletes compete always seems to light a fire inside of me to be better and try harder at whatever goals I am trying to tackle in my own life. It’s often very easy to see the areas in our own lives where we could be working harder or doing better, but because of our own goals, we often overlook the great things being done by others around us.

I think that this is part of the beauty of the Olympic Games; awarding others for things they are doing well. We also have the chance to give others the recognition they deserve, but we have to be willing to notice it in others first.

In honor of the 2018 Winter Olympics, we have created chocolate Gold Medals to give to the people in your lives who deserve a shout-out! These Gold medals are easy to make and only need a hot glue gun, ribbon, and chocolate coins!

How To Make Them:

  1. Start by cutting your ribbon around 10-12” long (just long enough to fit over the head when folded in half)
  2. Hot glue the two edges together
  3. Place a dab of hot glue on the closed edge of your ribbon and firmly press one chocolate coin onto the edge of your ribbon
  4. Give to someone special in your life who deserves the gold!
Have fun encouraging others and calling out their strengths!
